Workshop on executing agile projects in the ETRM environment
Project duration: 1 month
Brief description
PTA holds a workshop on the agile method in IT projects, due to the upcoming introduction of an ETRM system. The workshop is aimed at the department employees concerned and employees in purchasing. The focus here in on the question: With an existing requirements specification and an agile method, how can you acceptably fix calculable costs, adequate quality and a suitable production date before the start of the project?
Supplement
The planned ETRM introduction will replace a complex software landscape with multiple ETRM systems and individually developed components. At the same time, externalized electricity purchasing is to be integrated into the company. In this context, the company sees a high risk of unforeseen expenses and changes and is considering processing the project agilely. After creating a requirements specification, PTA holds a workshop with the purchasing, specialist and IT departments in order to create a common basis of understanding and identify options for how to proceed further.
Subject description
The ETRM system is tasked with trade, nomination, portfolio management, back office, contract management and risk controlling. The commodities natural gas and electricity are mapped. Settlement is carried out in SAP. One key question is the clustering of backlog items into packages. Here, possible alternative package sizes are discussed and developed. The aim is to create packages with a manageable runtime that provide a result that can reasonably be tested by the specialist division and are also suitable for ensuring a strong learning effect in the project participants.
