Introducing an electronic vehicle record for recording malfunctions of and damage to vehicles. The type of damage is such that the operational safety and traffic safety are not impaired. The malfunctions are reported by telephone and centrally recorded. They are immediately available to the workshops and other involved departments.
Supplement
The project is part of comprehensive, integrated malfunction management. In addition to the integration into a complex application landscape in the Lotus Notes environment, the connection to a personnel, vehicle, or service scheduling system is implemented on the basis of ORACLE 10.x. For this purpose, the LotusScript Extension LC LSX is used.
Subject description
The vehicle drivers manually record malfunctions and damage that do not cause the vehicle to be suspended on a vehicle record, which is processed by the workshop after the vehicle has been parked. The drivers do not receive feedback about the correction of the fault. Thus, damage that is actually known is reported multiple times. Because the damage is known to the workshop only after the vehicle has returned, spare parts cannot be obtained until after that time. With the new solution, the messages are recorded in realtime and are immediately available to the workshop and to other service facilities. The workshops get an efficient tool for managing work orders. The messages and the processing status are forwarded to the scheduling system for the vehicles. The next driver receives an overview of the known vehicle damage with the course documents.
