The Delphi-based UI framework (user intelligence) for a laboratory analytic system is updated to a current Delphi version, enabling it to work cleanly with a new Oracle database version.
Supplement
The main task is to update the Delphi version and the necessary source code adaptations, since the version jump brings considerable changes to the underlying technology. Specifically, the Delphi 2005 version will be updated to Delphi XE5, which, although not being the newest release of Delphi, enables to take full advantage from the synergy effects of two previous migrations. The activities can be divided into taking over all suitable code changes from the previous projects, the migration of specific parts of the laboratory analytic system, and further development planned for the future.
Subject description
To ensure further support by the software vendor Embarcadero and to minimize possible security risks, an update of the basic technology of the UI framework is required. Since the UI framework has not been updated over several years with regard to the basic technology (Delphi), this results in a considerable version leap. Specifically, the Delphi 2005 version will be updated to Delphi XE5. The UI framework is used to generate the user interface for the laboratory analytic system masks from XML files.
