Technical database interface for insurance modules
Project duration: 4 years, 10 months
Brief description
Development and enhancement of a functional database interface for insurance components.
Supplement
An XML interface based on COM can be used to access and edit specialist objects such as people, addresses, and transactions like proposals, applications and contracts. Various sales routes are supported here, each of which has different functional requirements (e.g. different ordering characteristics) and technical foundations (e.g. underlying databases such as SQLAnywhere or Postgres). The interface is implemented in C++ with ATL, Boost and Xerces.
Subject description
An interface was developed to provide the various different insurance modules with standardized and consistent access to stored functional objects. A wide variety of queries is supported. In addition to personal and address data, e-mails and contacts can also be queried from Outlook. Furthermore, the interface provides the option of electronically signing requests with the help of an external signature device and storing them as sealed PDF documents in the database.
