System test of container terminal & equipment management system
Project duration: 1 year, 8 months
Brief description
System test and error analysis of a piece of software for controlling the equipment of an automated seaport container terminal.
Supplement
The system supports the execution of container movements from warehouse to ship, ship to warehouse, moves within the warehouse, and transfers from the warehouse to non-automated transport vehicles.
Subject description
The orders to move containers are provided to the application by a higher-level planning system. On the basis of these orders, the application generates transport orders for controlling the automated movements of the warehouse cranes and the non-rail-bound, driverless transport cars. The transport cars orient themselves by means of transponder points on the quay surface. These points are known to the system, and the system also knows all obstacles in the driven area. The vehicle routes necessary to execute a transport order are calculated using this topology information and the paths and locations of all vehicles in the area.
