Brief description

PTA supports the customer in setting up, maintaining and operating application servers and the software on them in order to guarantee trouble-free operation of highly available systems and business-critical software.

Supplement

The PTA supports the central application operation in its day-to-day tasks and the further development of systems in the form of smaller projects. The range of tasks includes the operation of databases, setting up and maintaining monitoring and alerting infrastructures as well as the operation of central company software, such as wikis, ticket systems or intranet/internet portals.

Subject description

Application operation can be divided into three areas:' operation of (relational) databases',' operation of monitoring and alerting infrastructures' and' operation and fault clearance of application servers and software'. The technical tasks include all administrative tasks such as system configuration, log file evaluation, support for application developers, backup and restore tasks and installation of system and application software. In this context, in addition to the execution of defined and documented tasks, new and sometimes complex questions have to be dealt with. Other specialist departments are often involved here, which is why coordination and communication represent a high proportion of the workload.
