Support and further development of Java interfaces
Project duration: 1 year, 1 month
Brief description
Maintenance and extension of various Java interfaces of the e-commerce department of a paper merchant. The applications are web services that are called up by internal systems and company divisions as well as by external partners in process handling and major customers.
Supplement
The generation of orders and invoices is triggered from the SoftM inventory management system via a Java interface. This prepares the data in various formats such as PDF, XML, XLS and CSV and ensures further distribution to other systems such as an archive, fax, e-mail, FTP server and another Java interface responsible for the administration of print jobs. Additional web services are provided for external partners and major customers. These can be used to call up stock levels, for example. The maintenance order also includes an interface that validates order data from an online shop and sends the order to the merchandise management system. The merchandise management system uses further internal Java handlers, which control, among other things, the creation of payment advices, an Excel output, e-mail dispatch and data transfer via FTP.
Subject description
The work is carried out for the customer's IT department on behalf of the e-commerce department. The focus is on the support of external web services. In consultation with the IT department and the external partners, these are expanded so that invoices and statistics can also be queried by calling up further internal services. In addition, the infrastructure team will be supported in troubleshooting with regard to all Java interfaces in consultation with the supervisor of the SoftM standard software.
