Standard software for freight forwarders: Reengineering EuroMistral®

Project duration: 4 years, 7 months

Brief description

The standard software system EuroMistral, which is used by a large number of freight forwarders, will be further developed and improved on the basis of a reengineering concept in an open system architecture.

Supplement

Initially, the database structure is transitioned into a new structure because both, legacy system and new modules, should operate on the same database. To meet this coexistence requirement, the existing Informix database is migrated to the new data structure. This also requires the adaption of the productive Cobol programs. At the same time, new modules (e.g. for disposition) are being designed and redeveloped in Java.

Subject description

The software provides all the functionality required for handling, scheduling and billing of national and international road traffic, from collection up to the delivery at the recipient. In addition, EuroMistral Road incorporates a set of communication procedures, a dedicated monitoring system that focuses on tracking and tracing, in-house activity allocation functions, up-to-the-minute expense and revenue reporting procedures, and comprehensive reporting. A system for quality assurance and monitoring of the running time as well as procedures for internal auditing and sales round off the functional spectrum.
