Software for dynamic control of sample distribution in the laboratory
Project duration: 1 year, 4 months
Brief description
A dynamic control software should be developed for a new generation of sample distribution. The control system should also incorporate complex work procedures, multiple devices, and archiving devices. The main task is to create the product requirements, structuring, and tool setup, as well as moderating stakeholder workshops.
Supplement
In the first phase of the product development, the focus is on clarifying the scope of the product, the system architecture, and the restrictions placed on the system by the externally developed hardware (instrument). Based on workshops with the principal owners of the project, representatives of the hardware manufacturer, and the customer's internal experts, use cases are specified and modeled with the aid of UML and requirements templates.
Subject description
Analytical, pre-analytical, and post-analytical instruments communicate events via messages (ASTM or HL7). To support fully automatic laboratories, these messages should be evaluated and answered in accordance with a laboratory configuration, so that samples can be distributed in a more targeted manner. Of crucial importance here is the complexity of the work processes being mapped (aliquoting, load balancing, fast processing, etc.) and the controllability of the instruments being addressed.
