PTA supports the customer by creating setups for four desktop applications. This is individual software developed by the customer and used by approx. 2000 end users. The setup routines are to install the applications automatically and country-specific and run under Windows 10. The SCCM packaging tool is used to create the setup routines.
Supplement
The setups have grown historically and are not standardized. The customer also switches his IT provider and thus the operating system from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and the DSM to SCCM package tool. The customer wants to use the switch to rebuild the setups according to best practices and current requirements. This must be done in close coordination with the new IT provider. The IT provider is responsible for the SCCM scripts whose task has so far been done by DSM scripts. The PTA identifies and implements current requirements, standardizes components, removes obsolete functionalities and prepares the setups for use under Windows10. Setup and deployment features should be divided between InstallShield setups and SCCM scripts and clearly delimited. Basic MSI or InstallScript projects are created depending on the setup type and requirements.
Subject description
