Project management for the rollout of mobile scanners in a carrier company. The mobile devices communicate via GPRS and WLAN with a central server, which is used to track the status of the deliveries.
Supplement
Because the scanners previously used in the trucks for the delivery of shipments are technologically obsolete, they are replaced with newer devices and the associated software. Ten mobile devices are initially tested in a pilot operation. After the tests were performed largely with success, all depots and partners with a total of approximately 800 trucks should now be equipped in a rollout. In addition to expansions of the software, interfaces to the EuroMistral carrier system must be taken into account.
Subject description
The partners involved in the project, which are responsible for developing software, supplying and installing hardware, establishing communication connections, system operation, etc., must be coordinated so that the required resources and necessary support are available on time and with adequate quality during the rollout. In addition to deliveries on the basis of delivery run sheets, the new solution should also support pick-up orders and scanning processes during loading. In addition, the service can be improved and a basis for sound management information can be created by providing feedback of the delivery statuses.
