Where SAP R/3 has been used for a longer period, changes to the corporate structure must also be reflected in the system. Different methods for achieving this must be considered and implemented in the individual projects. Company spin-offs require extraction tools. Mergers require data migrations. New companies require customizing expansions. These activities are often combined under SLO (System Landscape Optimization).
Subject description
The individual companies in a plant engineering corporation are managed in SAP R/3 as separate company codes. New companies or joint ventures are added as company codes. For sales where the spun-off company continues to work with SAP R/3, the system must be divided using company codes. Where individual companies are merged, the company codes must be combined.
