SAP point-of-sale system: integration into existing SAP Retail landscape
Project duration: 3 years, 5 months
Brief description
Involvement in the introduction of a completely new point-of-sale system from GK Software (SAP Store Solutions by GK) into the existing SAP Retail system environment. The point-of-sale is to be supplied and emptied by means of web services. SAP-CAR is used as the central data hub and for continued supply.
Supplement
The necessary requirements and point-of-sale transactions were gathered in accordance with the point-of-sale system that is currently used, and then compiled as functional specifications. GK is SAP's strategic partner product for point-of-sale solutions and is operated on SAP SE. There is close standard integration between SAP Retail enterprise resource planning and the point-of-sale system from GK. The aim is to keep as close to the existing GK standard as possible. Enhancements and new requirements may be covered by process and organizational changes.
Subject description
In particular, it is important to transfer and process the PoS (point of sale) data from the numerous specialist centers, in real time, to the downstream system. All the information should be transferred every 15 minutes, via web services (possibly via SAP-PI). The data from all systems is stored in the SAP HANA database. The aim is to enable identification of real-time stocks. The GK point of sale can be supplied entirely via the standard IDocs from SAP Retail.
