SAP ERP 6.0: System analysis of internal and external interfaces of a loading system
Project duration: 11 months
Brief description
The customer's loading/dispatch processing will be modernized by introducing new industry standard software. The affected functions will be removed from the previous system and back-office follow-up functions will remain there. This creates new internal interfaces. All existing internal and external interfaces must be analyzed.
Supplement
In the project, the effects of the separation of the loading and shipping applications from a customer-specific SAP ERP system into a non-SAP industry-specific standard software will first be analyzed and the scope and affected objects identified. Subsequently, alternatives for the future architecture and thus the type and scope of new interfaces are developed: Continuation of the remaining system, relocation to an existing SAP ERP standard system with/without HANA, new implementation in the SAP standard, outsourcing of functionality to cloud applications, etc. The PTA supports the customer with the analysis as well as the conception and description of the solution alternatives.
Subject description
Numerous components of the complex overall architecture (weighing systems, truck terminals, driver identification, paper printing, track control, etc.) no longer correspond to the state of the art. There are no more spare parts or they no longer run under common operating systems or the like. In addition, from a security point of view, there is the pressure to separate the loading technology components more strongly from subsequent administrative issues such as quantity accounting, customs and tax processing, etc. The decision was therefore made to use industry-specific standard software for the essential technical components. This project deals with the separation and future interfaces and the appearance of the remaining downstream components.
