SAP ERP 6.0: Introduction of IFRS accounting and cost of sales accounting
Project duration: 1 year
Brief description
An international company that deals with the trading and servicing of construction machinery intends to use IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and the cost-of-sales method of accounting throughout the Group. The chart of accounts is then to be harmonised across the Group. The leading accounting practice is changing from HGB to IFRS.
Supplement
The introduction of IFRS accounting was prepared in a group-wide project; the same applies to the cost-of-sales method. The design is carried out by the respective Group divisions and is also dependent on the ERP system used.
Subject description
The decision must be made beforehand whether a changeover in the classic general ledger is to take place or whether a changeover to the functionalities of the new general ledger is advantageous. A concept has to be developed, which includes both the establishment of new functionalities and a migration concept. Customizing and corresponding programming (also with regard to reporting) must be carried out. Training for the new functionalities is required. The aim is to depict IFRS, HGB and taxes in several ledgers. Special attention is also paid to the conversion of asset accounting and investment management.
