SAP BW: support for and further development of a data warehouse in trade

Brief description
An SAP BW system based on SAP R/3 Retail and typical retail peripheral systems (branch enterprise resource planning, supplier portal, plant handling system, etc.) is supported, administered, developed further and prepared for international use. The analyses and reports are made available to the various user groups in-house (service center), in the subsidiaries and in the regional companies in BEx (Business Explorer/Add-In in MS Excel), via a web portal in the intranet, via COGNOS (IBM) as a front end and/or as files via open hub service. During the course of the project, the change management process is changed over from the old method based on Excel lists and Word documents, to an SAP Solution Management solution.
Supplement
SAP BW (3.5) takes the role of the central reporting system for the entire system landscape, consisting of cash register systems (Torex Retail), branch enterprise resource planning systems and an FI/CO system (SAP R/3 Industry Solution Retail 4.6; then SAP ERP 6.0 after a release upgrade supported as part of this project). The system is structured and supplied with data by R3 extractors, flat files and DB Connect).
Subject description
In order to control and check business processes, essential data is made available to decision-makers and responsible employees in finances, auditing, controlling, purchasing, sales and distribution/marketing and logistics, as well as managing directors and CEOs of the regional/national companies or the individual branches, as well as the incoming goods mangers, buyers and employees responsible for scanning. All the figures that are relevant to controlling a commercial enterprise from the areas of sales/cash register data, ordering/purchasing, goods movements, stocks, logistics, inventory and copies are formatted. Additionally, master data is formatted and made available for the particular use, each day, as per responsibilities.
