The customer uses an application based on SAP BW Integrated Planning (BI-IP) for sales planning of the global aftermarket. The planning application was revised in order to enter planned data in a more flexible and user-friendly manner in future.
Supplement
The main components of the expansion were user-friendly data entry/processing and flexibility in terms of future planning. Main components of the expansion: – Automation of repetitive tasks in data entry (e.g. planning functions) – Review of the data model to enable more flexible planning scenarios (additional maintenance dialogs, cubes, DSOs, to enable greater flexibility for specific planning types (strategic planning, forecast) or the number of plannable periods) – Revision of process chains. Because planning is partially based on existing actual data from previous years, there are many loading processes for setting up the initial planning data. Where possible, loading processes have been simplified using recursive process chains. – Revision of queries, Web templates, views (new functionalities, improved performance)
Subject description
Sales volumes, sales quantities and sales deductions/discounts are planned for regions, countries, sales offices and product groups. Planning of these values can be performed directly and indirectly (e.g. via percentage deviations from previous annual data). The planning process has different phases: 1. Planning of sales volume per sales office (gross volume and quantities) 2. Definition of the countries and percentage sales volume/quantity distribution for which the sales office is responsible, using keys saved for the countries 3. Detailed sales volume/quantity planning per country and product group (per sales office) 4. Entry of price changes and sales deductions for product groups (country-specific per sales office) Internal sales volume (sales volume with a group company) can also be taken into account and planned in the planning application. The application allows annual and monthly entry of planned data in both local and group currency.
