An existing Excel application is enhanced to include a new limit calculation/replacement control. Here, planned and actual stocks are compared in terms of quantity and value to determine the free or exceeded limit at the sales area, product group, subgroup and type levels (depending on what levels were included in planning).
Supplement
The application is developed entirely in Office VBA (Microsoft Excel 2003) with access to MS Access and SQL Server 2005 (via ODBC).
Subject description
In the limit calculation, the data scheduled in purchasing planning is estimated again at a later time in order to identify any repurchasing. The new estimate is made easier by also importing the actual data identified up to that point. The "limit calculation" is only released once purchasing planning is complete. It is released by the company management or the division management.
