Requirements analysis for a system for managing quality problems
Project duration: 5 months
Brief description
Rapid and comprehensive rectification of quality problems reported during assembly of commercial vehicles is to be supported by a new management system based on modern technologies. The task of this project is to analyze the requirements for the system, with the aim of creating a requirements specification for the tendering process.
Supplement
The requirements for the new system are compiled in interviews and workshops with the specialist field. The analyst structures the functions requirements into application cases and specifies them on the basis of a template. The analyst visualizes the scenarios, the object flow, the participating actors and the affected systems in the form of flow charts. The non-functional requirements are compiled separately by means of checklists. The requirements are transferred to the requirements specification. The requirements specification also includes a description of the process, the data dictionary, the interfaces and the technical framework conditions for the system. The requirements specification is then consolidated in reviews until it is approved for the request for quotation. The aim is to present the requirements clearly, in full and verifiably, so that the development project can provide the required functions by the planned deadlines and within the scheduled budget.
Subject description
An employee identifies a quality problem, describes it and informs the quality department via the management system that is to be created. By this action, the employee requests a measure for evaluating and eliminating the problem (= action). Once the affected vehicles are identified and the risk is assessed, the action is triggered by the quality department. The system automatically updates the connected production, shipping and sales systems (setting a delivery block for vehicles) and creates worklists for retrofitting. The retrofitter uses end devices and scanners to report to the system that the problem has been eliminated. The system then updates the connected systems (removal of the delivery block). Once the action is complete, the legally relevant documents have to be archived. Comprehensive reporting makes it possible to determine key figures for actions.
