A prototype for an extranet is developed on the basis of the Liferay Portal. The core of the extranet is a content management system which uses the integrated CMS and its document management system. Moreover, several extensions are implemented and workflows for administrative tasks defined. The design is based on the CI-specifications and includes a sophisticated and intuitive user guidance system.
Supplement
As users from different companies and with different authorizations need to access the extranet, a highly differentiated rights management system is required. The numerous extensions such as event management, newsletter management, e-mail services, 'To do' lists, discussion forums, job market or materials market are implemented as JSF portlets. PostgreSQL is used for the database.
Subject description
The goal of the extranet is to enable an optimum web-based communication between the partner companies and service companies. For this purpose, the contents, which are entered only once, are made available to specific target groups and regulated with access permissions. The technological basis should be used by the participating companies to set up their own extranets, which can be managed as clients. It will be possible for the extranets to have different designs.
