Process analysis lot number management in the hospital
Project duration: 4 months
Brief description
The identification of medical devices throughout the entire hospital process from procurement to treatment billing must be documented in a comprehensible manner. The aim of the project is to analyse the actual processes and to develop proposals for process optimisation in order to guarantee complete documentation as highly automized as possible.
Supplement
Several workshops with representatives of the complete process chain of procurement (pharmacy), treatment (operating theatre, doctors), documentation (archive) and accounting (medical controlling) are carried out. Using event storming as a moderation method, the actual processes are analyzed and optimization potentials are developed. The processes are documented with BPMN. Experts of the participating IT systems such as HIS, ERP are consulted.
Subject description
The legal requirements for the traceability of medical devices, especially implants, will increase considerably in the coming months and years. Clinics must be able to document each component used and make this documentation available within 3 days. Since the IT systems involved are diverse and the processes contain a relatively high proportion of manual steps, there is considerable potential for optimization.
