In this project, a module for optimizing the operation of power plants is developed. In addition to master data management, the module offers options for managing events and restrictions that affect the operation of power plants or individual turbines. Furthermore, revision planning is supported, as is the processing of forecast data copied from an external system and returned to the same external system. Reports on power plant resource planning are transferred to an energy trading exchange.
Supplement
The module is based on a client-server architecture. The client is implemented on the basis of Eclipse RPC as a rich client. There are interfaces to other in-house systems, as well as to the energy trading exchange. The system is also used to harmonize and replace existing prototypes, some of which are based on Excel and have grown up over time.
Subject description
The system is used to support short, medium and long-term power plant resource planning. The output to be covered in the entire control area is identified on the basis of current market and weather data. This is used as the basis for planning the operation of the customer's own power plants and for purchasing energy by means of OTC or spot trading. In order to support the planning, it is possible to view and edit individual forecasts for wind energy, load energy, external feed-in to the customer's control area and the resulting customer load. Corresponding optimization models and algorithms are developed and used to create forecasts. Transparency reports with the latest power plant data (aggregated to the individual primary energy carriers) are transferred at regular intervals to the energy trading exchange.
