Design and implementation of a data warehouse to help track losses from stocks of products in shops (points of sale).
Supplement
Starting from a preliminary investigation of the business processes that identified the weak points in the processes, a data warehouse is structured to support sales and distribution controlling. Data is integrated from the available processing systems, which are loaded to a data warehouse structured on the basis of MS SQL Server.
Subject description
The reporting supports the sale and distribution of print media (newspapers, magazines, books). Particular challenges in processing are the extensive range and the fast stock turnover. In this context, differences often occur in the stock (loss); in future, these differences are to be eliminated by improving the handling process and enhancing reporting.
