Optimizing the preparation and management of quotations in the SAP environment

Prototype for quotation preparation in SAP (calculation, configuration) and flexible output in MS Word (text modules).

The prototype is demonstrated using a 56K ISDN line. The following functions can be presented: accessing a version of a template (bandwidths), SAP SD document (quotation), wizard text module (change, copy), formatting according to customer specifications (bold, italic, underlined, fields!), transferring SAP quotation data to MS Word (header fields and items), any changes to and copying of SD document items without losing adjusted texts in MS Word, versioning quotations in SAP BDS.

Requirements: visually attractive quotations (proportional text, layout, logo, graphics), flexible content of text modules, texts in the SAP master data, quotation texts (text modules), write protection for locked parts of the document. Easy-to-learn quotation editing using familiar Microsoft tools (Word), efficient creation of standard quotations, effective preparation and editing of individual quotations, version management for quotations. Outlook – possible expansion stages: multilingual template management, decentralized editing of quotations, e.g. at the customer's site, comparison with SAP quotation (replication) for enabled fields.
