Operation and maintenance of master data application 2016
Project duration: 1 year
Brief description
The central application for mapping the business processes of an energy trading company is continuously developed according to the requirements of the individual specialist users. The statutory provisions are also taken into account by the system. The main emphases for 2016 are representing virtual investment pooling, taking account of the adaptation in representing transformer losses, diversification of existing products and integration of new clients.
Supplement
The master data application of the customer is based on a three-layer, service-oriented architecture (.NET-based thin client, application server, MS SQL 2012), and was originally implemented as a multi-client-capable system. The system communicates both with other individually implemented systems of the customer and with standard software such as SAP. The data exchange takes place with the help of various formats, primarily with the help of in-house XML formats, which are sent to a BizTalk server, which forwards the data in accordance with the relevant requirements. Development is performed in C# based on the .Net 4.5 framework.
Subject description
The system is used for recording all necessary contracts (purchasing, sales) and the data relevant for these (tariff schemes, profile, technical data) through to settlement and posting of customer documents. The customer's field of activity is not focused exclusively on the procurement of energy, but rather extends to energy consultation, metering point operation, trading energy from feed-in plants as well as representing additional sectors such as water and district heating. In addition, the user group of the system should be extended so that access can also be made possible for third parties. The multi-client capability of the application should be used for this purpose. In the framework of adapting the system, importance is given above all to the ability to react flexibly to innovations and to integrate them.
