Migration of opportunities, sales quotes and activities from a third-party CRM system to SAP C4C. In addition to adjusting the unloading/transformation program for the various rollouts, the ETL process must be performed and the transferred data must be compared with the source system on a sample basis. Once the data has been transferred to the target system, the objects in the source system are marked as migrated so that parallel operation of the source and target systems is possible.
Supplement
The source system is a CRM system from a third-party vendor that uses an Oracle database to store data. The data is extracted and transformed using Altova Mapforce. The data is read directly from the Oracle database, rebuilt using the transformation rules mapped in Altova Mapforce, and output as *.csv files. The SAP C4C Data Workbench is used to load the data as a complete business object or as an individual object. Before loading the data, it is necessary to check the load files for possible errors, in particular regarding employees, accounts and contacts. To correct these errors, either the existing interfaces between source system and ERP system, source system and target system are triggered manually, or missing data in the respective system is corrected. The PL/SQL Developer from Oracle is used to analyze the source data and identify the migrated objects in the source system.
Subject description
As part of the worldwide rollout of SAP C4C as a CRM system, sales employees will continue to have access to their current and historical data on their sales activities. For this purpose, all necessary data for various objects from a defined key date must be prepared in such a way that they can be transferred to the target system.
