For security reasons and in order to stabilize operations, a portal application with a connected Citrix terminal server application is migrated to Windows Server 2008 and XenApp 6.5.
Supplement
The existing ASP.NET portal application is moved to the new system. In the course of this change, large parts of the terminal server application and the associated infrastructure and cleaned up and stabilized by introducing partial automation. A redundant design of all the systems ensures greater availability. Due to restrictions with the customer's service provider, a dedicated authentication and a dedicated user context transport are implemented, in order to continue to operate the application. To do so, a public/private key method is used to exchange information securely between the systems. The reason for this is that the terminal server application is executed in an anonymous user context. In addition, the modernization of the Citrix XenApp means that a new web service interface to Citrix StoreFront needs to be connected in order to display and start the available published applications.
Subject description
External insurance brokers and partners of an insurance company gain access to an interested parties and quotation system via the portal application. The user groups are connected via a single sign-on method and can use the sales application without logging in again.
