Survey of user needs in tracking the whereabouts of mobile measuring devices and reagents in hospitals.
Supplement
A checked user requirement addresses situations which can occur in large hospitals with many wards. There, it is possible for smaller mobile measuring instruments to be left behind when changing wards, meaning that they cannot be found by later shifts. This leads to bottlenecks in patient care and makes it harder to maintain devices. Another examined user requirement also addresses situations which can occur above all in large hospitals and laboratories. The reagents used in diagnostic instruments can be assigned to specific production periods and use-by dates, expressed by the term "lot". These lots must be replaced, for example in recall campaigns or when nearing their expiry date. Fast allocation and localization of the lots and instruments in which they are used should simplify the process.
Subject description
In addition to the technical implementation (e.g. by connection data of hotspots), attention is also paid to preliminary selection and presentation of the data to be presented, so that it can be integrated into an existing mobile application. For the examples, a storyboard is drawn up with a persona, user targets, entry points to the workflow and a mockup view of the workflow, and presented to a committee. This serves as the basis for discussing the technical implementation and reaching a final decision on tracking these requirements further.
