The AWS (Advanced Warehouse System) application system is used for the inventory management of an international carrier company. For the control of warehouses, it covers delivery planning, stock management until removal from stock, and scheduling of the transport to the buyer.
Supplement
The objectives of the project are obtaining new customers by managing freely definable stock removal specifications (e.g., ripeness data/minimum shelf life data), batch numbers and SSCC numbers, better utilization of the warehouse capacity by optimizing the bin locations, better internal and external informational capability by managing inventory for individual storage units, better controllability of the warehouses by means of automatic monitoring and key figures, reduced IT costs and project costs due to a simplified connection using a standard interface, and unlimited WAN capability.
Subject description
The most import functions are inventory management at the level of the individual storage units, representing all transport within the warehouse, comprehensive SSCC management and searching, a flexible concept for filling bin locations per pallet type, height, weight, and stacking characteristic, flexible management of stock removal strategies, automatic release according to ripeness process, automatic blocking after the remaining period has been exceeded, supporting cyclical and complete inventory counts, complete connection via EDI, monitoring functions for constantly monitoring critical areas, and automatically generating critical key figures.
