Introduction of the electronic invoice in ZUGFeRD format for customer billing and to support the e-commerce department of a company in the paper wholesale trade. In the context of the EDI connection of customers, the introduction of electronic invoicing serves as an important step towards digitalisation in the form of process automation.
Supplement
The order processing takes place in the merchandise management system SoftM. An existing Java application (individual software) is adapted in order to be able to generate a PDF and an XML file from existing invoice data that have already been prepared. Both files are transferred via web service to the middleware 'Lobster_data' of the company Lobster and transferred there into the target format PDF/A-3. This file is returned by the web service to the calling Java instance as a response, provided with additional metadata and distributed to the relevant target systems (own archive, invoice recipient's system). In addition to project management and organization with a focus on interface coordination, the technical implementation in 'Lobster_data' is an important focus of the project.
Subject description
ZUGFeRD allows the exchange of invoices between supplier and payer without any requirements for prior arrangements. ZUGFeRD invoices can be deployed universally and are not limited to specific industry sectors or company sizes. Private enterprises as well as public administration can efficiently organize their invoice processing with ZUGFeRD.The standard has been created by a working group which comprises members from the public administration, three German federal ministries, industry associations in the financial, tax and software sectors, and other organizations. The working group is called »Forum elektronische Rechnung Deutschland» (FeRD) which means »Forum for electronic invoices Germany«. ZUGFeRD is abbreviated for »Zentraler User Guide des Forum elektronische Rechnung Deutschland«. The goal of ZUGFeRD is to enable electronic invoice exchange including structured data in the public and private sectors. See https://www.pdflib.com/pdf-knowledge-base/pdfa/zugferd-invoices/.
