Introduction of ARIS for business processes modeling
Project duration: 4 months
Brief description
During the detailed specification phase of a group-wide SAP introduction project, Agilian will be replaced by ARIS as a tool for business process modeling. Focus points include the provision of ARIS project structures, the creation of a migration interface, drawing up ARIS governance workflows, and ensuring parallel operation of both modeling tools.
Supplement
While the detailed specification for the Purchasing department is still being completed in Agilian, the detailed specification for Sales/Logistics should be started in parallel. For business process modeling, both projects use a shared repository of central objects of the business process landscape (BPL), e.g., business objects and sub-processes, which is harmonized across the entire group. ARIS project structures are set up, taking into account the valid methodology for business process modeling in the group. Efficient workflows for the changes to central objects of the BPL must be established for the several months in which Agilian and ARIS are operated in parallel. An XML-based interface must be developed for a later migration of the work results from Agilian to ARIS. All tool-specific methodological instructions, e.g. FAQ, must also be created for ARIS. Furthermore, ARIS process governance workflows have to be implemented for the methodological and technical acceptance of modeling results.
