An energy supplier wants to create a modern infrastructure for data storage and visualization, with a view to later provision for analysis tools and other interfaces, and modernize its application landscape. As a first step towards the modernization of its application landscape, PTA will use InfluxDB as a central database for time-related data.
Supplement
At the customer's request, InfluxDB is introduced as the basis for a data platform. This is a high-performance open source database which is optimized for the management of time series. The open source dashboard software Grafana is used to visualize the time series. All components are installed within a Linux Suse LES 12. The customer's application landscape consists of a large number of individual systems, most of which are file-based. The process management software Inubit serves as a transport layer between the systems and InfluxDB. PTA analyzes the business and technical requirements of Grafana and InfluxDB and develops an operating concept together with the customer and supports the installation of the components.
Subject description
The new technologies are to be used to modernize the low-performance, file-based application landscape. InfluxDB should be the focus of the future application landscape and provide data for business processes and analyses. Grafana serves as a monitoring tool which will provide KPIs for selected groups of people in order to support them in their operative business.
