Implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (NAV before) for merchandise management
Project duration: 2 years, 8 months
Brief description
Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (online) is intended to serve as a merchandise and warehouse management system. The objectives are to better document the warehouse activities and to enable the purchaser to better control the flow of goods (availability of goods, capacity utilization of the warehouse, delivery dates). The replacement of the current solution (paperwork) also serves the goal of achieving a higher level of revision security. An integration with the sales system Dynamics 365 Sales (CRM) is used to automatically transfer the goods requirements from the sales side (CRM) to the purchasing and inventory management system (BC). PTA takes on the task of project management and implementation including the requirements and process analysis. An integration with Microsoft Dynamics Sales (CRM) is implemented so that the business process can be integrated seamlessly. The sales order is created in CRM and transferred to the inventory control system (Business Central) for further warehouse processing.
Supplement
The customer is a medium sized company. The processes are set up in standard and Microsoft Dynamics Sales and Service (CRM modules) already exist, so one of the requirements is to work on the same platform. For this reason, the decision was made in favor of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly Navision) in the area of merchandise management. The integration between Dynamics 365 Sales and Business Central takes place via Power Automate with the help of flows.
Subject description
Business Central is an ERP system for small and medium-sized companies with less complex processes. Due to its proximity to the Microsoft platform, this system was selected and introduced in consultation with the customer. With regard to the integration with the CRM system, Power Automate was chosen as a simple and fast solution. This means that workflows can be triggered quickly and thus an exchange of master and transaction data between two systems within the Dynamics platform can be implemented without having to go outside of the standard functionality.
