Further development of a laboratory information system for microbiology
Project duration: 11 months
Brief description
The microbiology module in a laboratory information system is further developed as part of its introduction to certain beta customers and adjusted in line with the findings of the beta test.
Supplement
Applications are programmed using XML configuration files for describing the user interface. The functional logic is stored in PL/SQL procedures in an Oracle 9i database. When a screen is accessed, an HTML file is created from XML and the data read via PL/SQL procedures. This HTML file is displayed using a proprietary browser. The user interface logic is mapped with Java Script. Part of the application is multilingual.
Subject description
The laboratory information system's microbiology module is introduced provisionally in certain customers' systems after it is completed (beta test). The experiences gained from these tests are converted and implemented in the requirements for further development of the microbiology module. Special tasks here include: integrating the instrument interfaces, connecting ward communication, adapting forms, implementing a statistical module and adapting the software to the processes in the microbiology routine laboratory.
