Implementing an Access application for modular recording of energy trading contracts that are to be analyzed in terms of a new range of products.
Supplement
The application is to be designed using standard Access functions as far as possible. This means deliberately avoiding intensive use of VBA. Sophisticated programming techniques (e.g. PTA framework) are also avoided as these can place heavy demands on wait times or reusability. The application will probably no longer be used before the end of 2010. It is intended solely as a time-saving tool.
Subject description
The customer company is currently analyzing its commercial contracts and is trying to adjust them to a new range of products. For this purpose an attempt is made to reflect recurring contract clauses as "contract modules" that refer to the product modules. These should make it possible to reflect all contracts in a modular fashion. The analysis is simplified using the implemented tool, since it can be used to enter the contracts together with their modules into the database. One of the things the analysis should determine is which of the existing contracts can be transferred in this way to the new product world and for which contracts this will not be possible. The contract module "Other" is intended for contract modules that cannot be reflected. This module is flexible and can be defined as its own module category in other analyses.
