Establishment of test management for expanding an existing energy trading system
Project duration: 5 months
Brief description
The project is used for expanding a newly introduced standard software for energy trading and risk management (ETRM). The emphasis here lies on incorporation of new trading products into the existing ETRM system. PTA provides consulting support for all aspects in the area of test management, especially test case design and test data generation.
Supplement
The task of PTA is to adapt the test management used for introduction of the ETRM system to the expansion. For this purpose, a test concept is created and coordinated for expanding the system. Moreover, the ALM tool already used by the customer will be expanded and prepared for use in test management. In target-oriented workshops, actual processes are recorded and the requirements are determined for expanding the system. PTA analyzes the test cases already available at the customer to see if they can be reused, and adapts these to the expansion. For additional requirements, PTA creates new test cases including test data in consultation with the specialist departments. Together with the specialist departments, a selection of fall-back tests is established from the introduction of the ETRM system so as to guarantee that the already implemented functions will be retained.
Subject description
Short-term trading of electricity involves intraday transactions, in particular. Due to the constantly growing volume of these transactions for the customer, it is essential to record them promptly and efficiently in the system in order to ensure success on the market. For this purpose, a new ETRM system has been introduced for short-term electricity trading and this guarantees not only that the functional requirements are met but also that the non-functional general conditions are in place. This ETRM system will now be expanded to include additional trading products in the area of electricity, gas and emissions certificates.
