EDI connection of customers for purchase orders

Project duration: 1 year, 2 months

Brief description

EDI connection of customers for electronic orders to support the e-commerce department of a paper merchant. The EDI connection of customers for electronic orders serves as an important step towards digitization in the form of process automation.

Supplement

The electronic orders are transferred from the sender (buyer) to the recipient (seller) by the previously agreed means (e.g. FTP, e-mail, X.400, HTTP(S)). In the middleware 'Lobster_data' from Lobster, the respective source format is converted into a uniform target format for all customers by creating customer-specific mappings (profiles). A further mapping (profile) ensures that the data is transferred to a web service that is uniform for all customers. This web service is used to import the data into the SoftM merchandise management system and generate orders automatically. In addition to project management and organization with a focus on interface coordination in consultation with the customers, the technical implementation in 'Lobster_data' is also an important focus of the project.

Subject description

The work is carried out for the client's IT department on behalf of the e-commerce department. The E-Commerce department accompanies the EDI connections on your part both technically and organizationally to support the customer's sales. The use of the tool 'Lobster_data' from Lobster leads to a strong process standardization and transfer of the received data to the target system SoftM in a structured form. The orders created in the SoftM by automatic data import can either be automatically released or stopped immediately. Stopped orders are checked by a clerk and then manually released if necessary.
