Digital Transformation of Business Processes – Analysis, Preparation, Piloting
Project duration: 11 months
Brief description
Within the scope of this project, individual existing business processes as well as the supporting IT systems in the building materials trade will be examined and each assigned a process maturity level. Based on this, improvement potentials in the processes and the IT systems are identified, long and short-term technical and organizational measures are suggested for their realization and implemented if necessary. The PTA assumes the role of analyst and moderator in cooperation with the customer's internal experts. In addition to the general observations, the new pricing process introduced in the civil engineering sector is specifically examined and, if necessary, improved and adapted.
Supplement
The customer's building materials trade is in a dynamic and technically changing market. The challenge here is to bridge the gap between a customer and supplier landscape that in some cases is still fully analogous and the demands of modern regulatory requirements and their influence on the construction industry in the coming years. In the current process landscape, the area of pricing is particularly conspicuous, as employees make extensive use of the possibility of manually overriding the specified prices.
Subject description
The affected business processes are first subjected to an actual recording: They are described either informally or in BPMN 2.0, as far as a more detailed modelling is possible and necessary. The procedure is basically as follows: first, an interview is conducted with one or more knowledge carriers. Based on this, a first draft of the process is created. This draft is discussed iteratively with the respective knowledge carrier and adapted until the documentation corresponds to the actual process. The processes described are evaluated in terms of their digital maturity. In order to achieve a quick win, the customer's pricing process is specifically analysed and a pilot project designed and initiated to reduce manual overriding and increase price quality and transparency.
