Development of a new calculation core for premium calculation of a private health insurance company.
Brief description
The existing calculation core for calculating the premium for private health insurance was originally developed decades ago and has always been adapted to new system environments and professional requirements. A new development was commissioned, since the computation core can only be maintained with great effort. The new calculation core should be adapted to the existing system landscape and implemented with modern development guidelines. Since the computing core is required on different platforms (Windows, Linux, host, cloud), it is developed in C ++. Based on the specifications of the specialist department, the PTA implements the complete calculation core for the premium calculation.
Supplement
The computing core is embedded in different processes on the supported platforms. It is used as part of contract processing on the clerks' Windows computers, in the dark processing of applications on an application server under Linux, on the host in batch processes, for example to adjust the premium for supplementary nursing care tariffs, and in the cloud for quick tariffing from application lines used by end customers. The calculation core must be able to calculate the contributions of all tariffs offered (> 700), as well as to determine carry-over values. The development takes place in Visual Studio 2015.
Subject description
Due to the increased number of tariffs, many factors play a role in the contribution calculation. In addition to the basic contribution based on age (for older tariffs also based on gender), other surcharges and discounts must also be taken into account. Furthermore, data for provisions and premium adjustments still need to be carried. When changing tariffs in existing contracts, the appropriate tariffs must be assigned to each other and, if applicable, existing values for provisions, risk surcharges, etc. must be taken into account.
