Design and implementation of structural changes to a database that forms the basis for a proprietary CRM solution intended for field staff. After gathering all the requirements and technical specifications from the departments involved, the adjustments to the database are restructured locally at the field staff locations. It is not necessary to provide support or for users to intervene.
Supplement
The proprietary CRM application is implemented with C++ and C#. PowerDesigner (version 8) is used to model the database adjustments. The database to be altered is a Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere 9 database. The lack of "local services" in the IT area results in the need for extensive testing in advance of the rollout. The delivery should be as smooth as possible for users.
Subject description
Efficient management of customer relationships is based on a variety of complex customer data and data about service offers. This data has to be quickly and comprehensively accessible to users and it needs to be presented to customers in an appealing way. For the field staff to better orient its activities towards customers' needs, the database on which the existing CRM software is based has to be restructured. No existing data must be lost during the adjustment. The requirements to be implemented include, for example, the introduction of a status concept for electronic dispatch of orders, data migration and optimizing database performance by creating new indexes and data structures.
