To provide long-term relief for the business departments during test phases, the regression tests should be automated for the balancing and settlement system used at the customer. For this purpose, PTA works with the customer to create an automation concept forming the basis for further automation activities.
Supplement
A new release is imported for the balance sheet accounting and settlement system of the customer on a quarterly basis, involving a high degree of test work. This is provided by the specialist departments and application management alongside their everyday business, leading to significant resource bottlenecks. As a result, the test activities are to be supported and the workload on employees reduced in the long term by introducing automated testing in a gradual procedure so as to phase out manual fall-back tests. The task of PTA is to work out the fundamental general conditions and guidelines for this automation and to define them specifically in the automation concept. Targeted workshops establish targets, risks and the extent of automation, and these factors then have detailed KPIs assigned to them. The current test process is adopted and has the automation incorporated into it. In addition, a representative selection of the existing test cases is made which are used for tool evaluation.
