Conversion of a vehicle tariffing connection to another existing system

The existing application is a web service with a REST interface. The aim of the new application is to be as compatible as possible with the existing application so that the callers have to make as few changes as possible. The new application is written in Spring Boot. It runs in a Kubernetes cluster in AWS and calls other services stored there, which are responsible for the actual calculations, search functions, storage functions, etc. The primary task of the new application is to convert the incoming data into the format of the backends and to map the business processes triggered by the caller to the internal processes. The application itself does not store any data. In addition to implementing the application code, the development team's task is also to embed the application in the insurance company's existing cloud infrastructure and operate it there.
