Consulting on the introduction of a new energy trading and scheduling system
Project duration: 2 years, 9 months
Brief description
The project involves both replacing existing standard software for shortterm trading of electricity and introducing a scheduling system. PTA provides consulting services for all aspects of system specification and introduction. One particular focus is on test management and migration from the legacy system to the new system
Supplement
In multiple, target-oriented workshops, actual processes are recorded and the requirements are determined for the new standard software to be introduced. The knowledge gained in these workshops is documented in the form of a requirements specification. Test cases are then derived from this. To support these test cases, which provide a module for comprehensive test management, an ALM tool is introduced. Organizational support is given to the customer for this tool. PTA develops the necessary processes, tools and procedures and introduces these in the customer's system. For the migration, the existing data structure are recorded in close cooperation with the specialist experts and transferred structurally to the target system. PTA supports the system provider during the migration and supports the customer when validating the migrated data.
Subject description
Short-term trading of electricity involves intraday transactions, in particular. Due to the constantly growing volume of these transactions for the customer, it is essential to record the relevant transactions promptly and efficiently in the system in order to ensure success on the market. The legacy system to be replaced cannot fulfill the performance requirements. The project ensures that the new system guarantees both the functional requirements and the non-functional framework conditions.
