Connecting the broker portal to broker management program
Project duration: 2 years, 5 months
Brief description
Independent insurance brokers generally use an independent program for managing brokers (MVP) as the leading system for customer and appointment management. Insurance modules from different providers can be accessed directly from the program. In order to better integrate the rating of internal insurance products into the brokers' working environment, the proprietary broker portal is connected to various MVPs.
Supplement
The existing software for rating insurance products is connected via a third-party provider's software to the most commonly used broker management programs. In addition to the corresponding interface in XML format, the possible call variants and subsequent processing have to be defined and implemented. Once this is complete, the results are returned and displayed in the broker management program. The insurance-side start component is developed in C++ because, if the customer and transaction management for the portal is not installed locally, the program branches to the Windows Terminal Server. In this case, it cannot be certain that the .Net 2.0 Framework is installed on the client computer.
Subject description
The connection between the insurer's customer and transaction management to various broker management programs is aimed at safeguarding and reinforcing sales of various insurance products through independent insurance brokers. The closer interlinking of the company's own software for rating insurance and provision products to the various broker management programs also helps to improve the sales process. This includes, for example, customer data entered in the broker management program being included directly in the rating, making it unnecessary to enter it separately. Reallocation of all the data created means that the insurance applications are also visible in the broker management program. Using software from a third-party provider covers about 70% of the broker management program market share.
