Concept for the implementation of detailed data reporting in the data warehouse
Project duration: 5 months
Brief description
Within the framework of the project for the modernization of the Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse landscape, a concept for the implementation of detailed data reporting is required. In order to avoid the complex generation of aggregates in data marts, an abstract technical data model is to be developed and evaluated, which enables reporting on detailed mass data.
Supplement
The technical possibilities of a data warehouse based on Teradata are to be identified and evaluated by suitable benchmarks regarding the feasibility. This includes the evaluation of the following Teradata concepts: primary, secondary and join indices; statistics; partitioning (row and column based); compression (multivalue compression, algorithmic compression). Benchmarking is based on the expected quantity structure with tables of more than 20 billion rows.
Subject description
Index structures or other technical measures that enable fast response times must be able to be generated in an acceptable time so that data management can also take place several times a day (hourly, sometimes every 15 minutes). It should also be possible for departments to create their own self-service reports using standard reporting tools such as Tableau or SAP Business Objects.
