Operational support for the energy data management (EDM) system from Robotron (robotron*eSales) for the electricity and gas commodity types for supporting daily business at the Grid Management (procurement) department at an energy trading company.
Supplement
Robotron*eSales is a time series management system for sales and procurement. Using the core functions of the robotron*eCount EDM system, robotron*eSales enables a closed process chain from procurement through to sales for energy suppliers. The system provides a planning and decision-making basis using operative data. Robotron*eSales has a component-based software architecture. The individual system configuration is created from this basic system by activating specific components. This activation is based on purchased licenses or functions. The application was developed with Oracle*Forms/Webforms. The EDM server works on the basis of an Oracle11g database with integrated application logic. New requirements give rise to ongoing adaptations to existing interfaces and the addition of new ones, especially the interface to the EDM master data system). One point to emphasize in 2016 is the introduction of the new robotron*ePredict forecast module.
Subject description
Operation of the EDM system (robotron*eSales) from Robotron, which the customer uses for electricity and gas, is supported by IT services. In addition to daily business, regular status meetings are held, with the software manufacturer also taking part where necessary. Larger customer-specific modifications to the standard software and/or interfaces are developed conceptually (generally together with the software manufacturer). The documents shall be subjected to reviews and approved by the customer. This is followed by the implementation, acceptance test and go-live.
