Business process analysis for the deployment of a laboratory automation system
Project duration: 5 months
Brief description
The customer develops an innovative automation system for diagnostic high-throughput laboratories. The current customer process for laboratory planning and product deployment cannot be applied directly to the new laboratory automation system. The task of PTA is to analyze the laboratory planning, deployment and implementation process of the customer and to record, which process steps, tools or methodologies are missing. In close collaboration with the customer, PTA develops proposals, which changes are necessary to efficiently sell and deploy the laboratory automation system.
Supplement
In detail, PTA performs the following tasks: research and analysis of relevant information sources; stakeholder analysis; plan, conduct and evaluate stakeholder interviews; plan, facilitate and evaluate workshops; visualize processes; visualize information flows between process steps or actors; document gaps in processes, tool support or methods; root cause analysis (RCA); develop suggestions with stakeholders on how to close the gaps.
Subject description
Laboratory automation not only changes work processes in the laboratory, but also influences the way the customer plans laboratory landscapes and sells and deploys the laboratory automation system, and how he implements the sold solution at the customer site. The customer's current process for laboratory planning, product deployment and implementation is designed for individual products. It does not take into account, which impact laboratory automation has on the design process of laboratories, and thus the way, how the customer sells, deploys and implements individual systems or entire laboratory landscapes.
