Business process analysis and modelling of to-be processes
Project duration: 8 months
Brief description
In the course of the company-wide introduction of a new ERP system, the corresponding to-be business processes are analyzed and modelled, a uniform modelling methodology developed and the responsible modelers of the specialist departments of Sales and distribution, Purchasing, Logistics and IT are supported in process documentation and handling of the modelling tool.
Supplement
The to-be process analysis follows on from the as-is process analysis phase (see ID 3770). The starting point for to-be process modelling is formed by process descriptions in text form which result from workshops involving the people responsible for the technical process, with the IT specialists responsible for the ERP software. The to-be processes are coordinated in workshops with the people responsible for the process and are documented in the ViFlow modelling tool according to a defined procedure. In a training course, additional responsible modelers are trained in handling the ViFlow modelling tool, and are provided with methodological support during modelling. A modelling guideline is drawn up and the templates required for the uniform modelling are provided.
Subject description
The objective of to-be process modelling is complete and uniform documentation of all to-be procedures in the ERP software to be introduced, including identification of the gaps (= omissions in the range of functions of the software to be introduced). The finished to-be process models serve as the basis for the test cases for subsequent acceptance of the ERP software (model-based testing), and should be transferred automatically to the test management tool following completion in a uniform structure. Furthermore, the process models should become part of the planned user manual for the software.
