Due to a higher and regular demand for evaluations, the master data system is being expanded to include automation for creating and sending available evaluations by email. For this purpose, the existing logic for creating evaluations is analyzed in order to embed the automation in the existing code. In addition, sent evaluations are to be documented.
Supplement
The master data system is an internal .NET solution with MS SQL Server connection, which enables a user to initialize the creation of an evaluation by using a wizard, which is then sent to the user by e-mail. Several components are added to integrate the automatic evaluation mailing into the current system. Firstly, a new master data dialog that allows the user to specify which evaluation is to be sent from which sender user to which recipient. The user has the option of selecting a day of the week or a day of the month on which the report is to be sent regularly. For the sending itself, a job is implemented that checks all maintained entries every hour and, if necessary, initiates the creation and sending of the evaluation. The sent evaluations are saved as documents in the database and can be called up using a new master data dialog.
Subject description
Some of the reports that can be generated by the master data system are regularly required by both internal and external parties. Automating the creation and sending of these evaluations saves a great deal of time and also removes the dependency on the availability of people who would be required to manually initiate the creation of evaluatiaons and forward them to the required parties. The documentation also means that all authorized individuals can now see which evaluations have been sent to whom, whereas previously only the sender could track this in their personal mailbox, although this is not secure because messages could be deleted.
