Annual ongoing enhancements and support for an EEG Internet portal

Brief description

Support and further development of the EEG Internet. EEG Internet reduces the cost of a transmission provider within the context of an implementation of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), where it enables the participating business partners (distribution system operators and traders) to enter the information required by the transmission provider via the Internet.

Supplement

The transmission provider implements the EEG using a Java-based distributed application with the SAP WAS as the application server and Oracle as the database. The data recorded using EEG Internet needs to be copied to this system for further processing. EEG Internet makes it possible to record and process the data that the transmission provider requires to implement the EEG (such as forecast transfer to the end consumers of the electricity supply companies supplying end consumers within its control area). The EEG Internet is also based on Java and consists of 2 components: frontend and backend. Communication between frontend and backend is performed exclusively via Web services that are provided by the backend using WebService Frameworks CXF from Apache. The backend, in turn, accesses an Oracle database via the Hibernate persistence framework.

Subject description

According to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), a transmission provider has the following responsibilities: (a) Discharge and reimbursement of the energy received by the distribution system operators within the transmission provider's control area, as defined by EEG. (b) Recording the energy received (quantity and chronological sequence) and the reimbursement payments made. (c) Adjusting the received energy and the reimbursements made between the 4 transmission providers in Germany. (d) Marketing of the EEG energy to an energy exchange. (e) Distribution of the costs to all electricity supply companies supplying end consumers (EVUs) within its control area.
